Event requirements
Eligibility: All participants must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license.
Tech Inspection: click here for the form used to tech your car. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure safe mechanical condition of the vehicle at all times. It is strongly recommended that vehicles be thoroughly and routinely inspected by a reputable technician beforehand. Refunds or credits will not be available for cars that fail tech. See note below re: convertibles.
Summit Point will no longer allow electric or hybrid-electric vehicles to participate as of April 2023, sorry!
Convertibles: Rollbars are required unless the car is factory equipped with rollover protection, and it must state such in the manual. Drivers must bring manual and present it at tech. Mazda MX5/Miata, Honda S2000, and Dodge Viper convertibles (among others) all need 4 point roll bars added. All convertibles must pass a “broomstick test” as well. Please inquire before registering if you have any question about the legality of your convertible. Sorry no refunds or credits if you register and/or show up with a convertible that doesn’t pass tech.
Helmets: Must have Snell M2010/SA2010 or newer rating and be in good condition. Rental helmets are available directly from OG Racing in advance. Note that the 2010 rated helmets will expire later in 2025 when the new rating comes out.
Passengers: TBD per event, please see FAQ page
Weather: These events will take place “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” but may be rescheduled or paused for more significant weather. We will reschedule (usually to the following weekend) only for frozen weather.
Cancellation: All sales final – no cancellation, refund, or credit. An entry is transferable to another person for this event only and must be done by noon on the Tuesday prior for a Saturday event or noon on the Wednesday prior for a Sunday event.
Car Classing: Basic car classing exists so drivers compete against those in similar cars and/or of a similar skill level. It is each competitor's responsibility to class themselves correctly and to help class all other participants correctly. Please click here for our car classing details page. If you have any questions about your power level or about which class to select, please contact Jon Felton before registering.
Car Numbers: You need to display your car number (after confirming it on the posted entry list) "big and visible" on both sides of your car, at least 12" tall and of a contrasting color. Note that you won't get times or be on the results if you have any number on your car other than the one on the entry list, or if we can't see your numbers on your car for whatever reason. What we can see on the car is what helps us make accurate results, thanks in advance!
IMPORTANT: If you would like to represent a university/college (such as JMU, VTech, UVA, etc.) and participate in the College Cup competition, please add the name of the institution in the "Sponsor" field when you register.
Lodging: We get a great rate of $89 + tax at the Hampton Inn Martinsburg South-Inwood, about 12 miles from the track & just off I-81. Click here to book your room!
